Alvin named in U13 Boys All-Star Five as three Dynamite players go national

Leicester Dynamite’s junior programme is celebrating another national accolade after Alvin Lin was named in the U13 Boys All-Star 5 at this year’s Aspire All-Star National Tournament.

The Aspire All-Star event at Manchester’s National Basketball Performance Centre brings together the best young players from Basketball England’s four Super Regions - North, South, Central and London - for three days of competition at U13 and U15 level. 

Alvin, who was in Leicester Dynamite’s U12s squad for the 2025/26 season, was selected to compete for the U13 Central squad while Dynamite U16 players Asher Ogan and Artemii Pasechnyk were chosen to play for the U15 Central team.

Being named in the ‘All-Star 5’ recognises Alvin as one of the standout performers in his age group across the entire country, reflecting both his individual talent and the quality of the Leicester Dynamite programme.

Alvin’s achievement continues a strong run of national recognition for Leicester Dynamite. 

Last month, Asher represented England U14 Boys at the Home Nations tournament in Cardiff and helped his country record three dominant wins. Asher was chosen to be part of the England squad after being invited to attend the England Talent Programme Selection Camp in Manchester.

For a club that has spent more than three decades coaching young people in Leicester and Leicestershire, these selections underline what Leicester Dynamite is all about: developing players who can compete on national stages while staying rooted in their local basketball community. 

From weekly community sessions and team training to Aspire and England programmes, it’s clear to see the club’s focus on fundamentals, team culture and opportunity is having a big impact.

Head Coach Dave Harris said: “It’s fantastic to see three Leicester Dynamite players competing at the same national tournament. For Alvin to go one step further and be named in the U13 Boys All-Star Five is a huge achievement and a real credit to the work he’s put in. 

“Asher and Artemii’s selection at U15 level shows the depth of talent coming through our programme - we’re incredibly proud of all three of them and what they represent for the club.”
