The club wants to attract more kids aged between 5-8 to train in the youngest coaching group at the community sessions.
Leicester Dynamite is calling all future ballers!
Every Saturday from 10am-12pm, we run fun, welcoming community basketball sessions - and we’re especially keen to see more 5-8-year-olds getting involved.
Our sessions are all about play, confidence and teamwork. Children learn the basics of the game - dribbling, passing and shooting - through games and challenges designed to keep them moving, laughing and learning. Along the way, players build confidence, learn to work as a team, listen to instructions and celebrate each other’s success.
These sessions are all about having fun, making friends, and getting active on court. You don’t need to have played before, and you definitely don’t need to be “good” at basketball to join in.
The community sessions are open to children aged 5-15, but we're especially keen to see more of the youngest players coming through.
Most weeks, the youngest group coaching is led by head coach Dave Harris, who has helped hundreds of young players take their first steps in basketball. He and the team make sure every child is included, encouraged and supported, whether it’s their first time on court or they’re already hooked on the game.
Dave said: “We have quite a few youngsters attend the 5-8 age group, however we’d really like to see more get involved. If your child is curious about trying a new sport, this is a great place to start. It’s also a great way to burn off energy on a Saturday morning, doing something active and having fun.”
The community sessions take place at WQE College, Ball Hall, Lancaster Road, Leicester and you can just turn up - no need to book.
