Leicester Dynamite U14s will be playing in the North Premier next season after back-to-back away wins in the playoffs.
Leicester Dynamite's U14s have earned promotion to the North Premier division after claiming back-to-back away victories in the playoffs.
The squad, who were crowned league champions in Midlands Conference II, opened their playoff campaign on the road at Stockport Basketball, where they produced a commanding 68-55 victory.
They carried that form into the second round, travelling to City of Leeds and closing out a composed 62-44 win to confirm their place in the next division.
Two away wins to seal promotion is no small feat - and the manner of both performances reflected a team that has grown considerably over the course of the season, combining technical quality with a positive attitude and maturity.
The team’s coaches Shaun and Luke said the boys should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
Shaun said: "The lads have been brilliant all season. What stands out for me isn't just the results - it's how they've developed as a team. They trust each other and they work hard for each other. Going to Stockport and Leeds and winning both games away from home - that takes real mental strength.
Luke said: "This group has exceeded every expectation we had at the start of the season. They've bought into everything we've asked of them and they've pushed themselves week in, week out. Securing promotion is a massive achievement for players of this age, and doing it with two away wins makes it even more special.”
Leicester Dynamite Head Coach Dave Harris added: "This group has been outstanding from start to finish. Winning both playoff rounds away from home to secure promotion is a fantastic achievement, and we can't wait to see what they're capable of in the North Premier."
The U14s now look ahead to the challenge of competing at the next level - ready to test themselves against some of the strongest teams in the region.
