The club is looking for more players - boys and girls- for its U12s mixed squad for 2026-27.
Leicester Dynamite is inviting more young players to join its U12 squad for the 2026/27 season.
The club is currently preparing for an expanded programme across National Basketball League and Your Basketball League competitions.
Leicester’s largest junior basketball programme is looking for boys and girls in the U12 age group to strengthen its mixed squad ahead of the new campaign.
The U12s serve as a key entry point into Dynamite’s performance pathway, which has recently produced national‑level recognition including Aspire All-Star and England selections.
New recruits will have the opportunity to train weekly under experienced coaches, play competitive fixtures, and progress into older age‑group teams as they develop. Sessions focus on core skills, game understanding and team play, while also reflecting the club’s wider emphasis on leadership, confidence and life skills.
Leicester Dynamite has been coaching young people in Leicester and Leicestershire for more than 30 years and now runs nine junior teams across NBL and YBL.
Head coach Dave Harris said: “Being part of an U12 squad gives boys and girls so much more than just extra game time. They learn the fundamentals of basketball, but they also pick up confidence, communication and responsibility by being part of a team every week. At this age group, players start to understand what it means to commit to training, listen to coaches and support their teammates - those are skills they carry into school, friendships and later life, as well as into older age-group squads.”
Families interested in registering a young player for the U12 squad are encouraged to either come along to a community session which takes place on Saturdays 10am-12 at WQE Ball Hall, Lancaster Road, Leicester, LE1 7HA or contact Head Coach Dave Harris on 07886 705615 or email yhleicesterdynamite@hotmail.co.uk to arrange a trial.
