Leicester Dynamite U17 girls are celebrating after winning the YBL Women's Play-off Cup.

Leicester Dynamite U17 girls have been crowned champions after securing a 65-55 win in the YBL Women’s Play-off Cup

The squad has shown resilience, collaboration and determination throughout the season - and in a final that tested both character and composure, Dynamite produced a gritty second-half performance to seal the win.

The game began as a tightly contested battle, with both sides trading scores in a competitive opening. At the break, Dynamite found themselves trailing by 10 points, facing a significant challenge in the second half of the game.

However, the response after half-time highlighted the team’s growth and belief. Dynamite came out with renewed energy, gradually chipping away at the deficit. Their efforts paid off in the 3rd quarter, where they took control of the game and shifted the momentum firmly in their favour - allowing them to extend their lead and close out the game in style.

Head Coach Dave Harris praised the team’s character and determination following the win.

“This was a real team performance,” he said. “We’re so proud of how these girls have developed, both individually and as a team and encouraged each other. They turned up to training every week with great energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to improve. It has been brilliant to watch their progress throughout the year.”

Coach Mell said: "The girls should be very proud of how they played in the final. It’s a fantastic achievement and fully deserved. It's been a privilege to watch the team develop and encourage each other this season."

The victory reflects Leicester Dynamite’s continued focus on developing competitive, confident players capable of performing under pressure.
