Under-16s player Asher Ogan has been named in the England squad for the U14 Home Nations tournament in Cardiff
Asher was selected for the U14 England team after attending a talent programme selection camp at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester last weekend.
The tournament will showcase some of the most talented young basketball players from across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Asher’s selection caps an outstanding 2025/26 season for the club’s U16 squad, who were crowned league champions and secured promotion to the Premier division.
His consistency and competitiveness have now been recognised at national level, offering a clear example of what can be achieved through hard work and commitment to the programme.
For Leicester Dynamite, Asher’s call-up is further proof that the club’s approach to developing young players - focusing on fundamentals, team culture and leadership as well as results - is paying off.
It also shows young players that there is a pathway from grassroots basketball in Leicester to representing England.
The Home Nations tournament in Cardiff will see Asher test himself against some of the best young players from across the UK, gaining invaluable experience in a high-performance environment.
It is also an opportunity for him to bring back new ideas, standards and confidence to share with his Dynamite teammates ahead of their debut season in the Premier division.

Asher said: “The selection camp was a great experience. I was a bit nervous, especially on the first day, but I really enjoyed it. I’m honoured to be selected to play for England in the Home Nations tournament and am really looking forward to being part of the team.
"I'd like to thank the coaches and my teammates at Leicester Dynamite for all the coaching and support especially Coach Dave who has played a huge part in helping me to develop my game."
Head Coach and coach of the U16s Dave Harris said: “Im incredibly proud of Asher being selected to represent England. It’s a fantastic achievement and one that has been earned through years of hard work, dedication and commitment to improving every day.
“Since joining our club, Asher has been a joy to coach. His attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn have always stood out and has been a great example to his teammates both on and off the court.
“This selection is thoroughly deserved and everyone at Leicester Dynamite is delighted see his efforts rewarded. We all look forward to following his journey and know he will represent both the club and England with pride.”
The U14 England Home Nations tournament will take place at Cardiff Met Archers Arena on Saturday and Sunday 27 and 28 June.
